IT Costs Frustrate CFO’s

CFO have lately taken the beat-down by their superiors regarding excessive IT costs and poor investments outsourcing has brought to the company.

According to Computerworld UK* with the joint effort from Oxford Economics and consulting firm AlixPartners, majority of CFO’s across the globe were frustrated about the same poor quality aspects of their IT investments.  The researchers from Oxford and AlixPartners gained the insights they needed from the companies’ spending information, IT return, and benefits from their current providers—What they found, was indeed disturbing…

Over 50 percent of respondents said that their IT budget was “weighted too heavily” on keeping their IT departments running; nearly three-quarters of all IT spending was on keeping their services and help-desk online, something CFO’s feel a disconnect on. Majority of CFO feel displeased with their service and are constantly considering better options for their company. The survey also revealed that companies yearn for better access to “more robust business information,” with regards to their IT department, something they currently do not have.
